I found myself laying on the couch, exhausted after a hard week of work, chores, cleaning and appointments. I had been home for 5 minutes when my daughter walked up to me and asked me that question...
I could feel the Guilt overwhelming me if I said no.
-"I would love to!"
...But I just knew I couldn't give it 100%. It was a lazy, tired and lethargic father
who slowly pushed himself up from the couch...
(AND I’M A PHYSICAL THERAPIST. WTF!!!)
I was tired, I was annoyed, I was everything I shouldn’t be when I am home.
But I couldn’t help it.
I didn’t realise being a Dad was going to wear me so much out!
It’s not her fault that her Dad is Lazy and Weak.
I could have easily blamed my work. Or the long hours. Or the difficult clients. Basically I could have blamed it on everything else… But I knew the actual truth:
My Life. MY Responsibility.
Luckily, I knew what I needed to do. Since I already had the Knowledge of how the human body works, I could easily make a few different CHOICES in order to get stronger again.
I wouldn't put up with this.
That's why I sat down one evening and started brainstorming.
I had the knowledge.
So why on earth hadn't I gotten my act together to do something about it earlier???
The answer was obvious..
Everyday life gets in the way. For so many things. But yours and your family's health are among the most important areas you can focus on. To neglect it is to neglect your future.
I spent an entire year creating, developing and testing the program. Including 9 months of volunteering in a Local Gym to go through it with all sorts of different people, with different ages, genders, backgrounds…
Because I wanted to make absolutely sure that what I had created was real.
After all, Parenthood usually means less sleep, less time, less energy..
At least for the first several years. Those years are just so important -for the entire family.
If I were to stay in the condition I was, I don't even want to think about how bad of an example I am actually sending to both my Wife and Daughter.
No more.
After going through the Program myself, I felt how great it was. I mean, I'm obviously biased, since I made it. Then again... I am highly critical of myself. Must be the high standards and never feeling good enough...
However... Like I said, I didn't just test it on me. I managed to get 60 year olds to do a
"Floor Getup" -Where they lay flat down on their backs, then crunches forward, only to jump up in a quite impressive speed!
If several 60 year olds can do that just from following the program
-then most parents are certain to get the same results.
I am just thankful that I had the chance to do something about my current condition. After all, I know not everyone is a personal trainer or physical therapist. That's why I've made it as easy as I can for you, and compiled the entire program with an overview, exercise descriptions and even calculated approx. how long you will spend on each exercise. Because the kids get in the way and we can't always do a full training session at once. I fully understand that.
